I'm prolly gonna sound vain and preppy, but if he can promise to take care of my family, then he has a chance. ALot of women here are going to be like "ugh, typical men!" But what they fail to understand, that if this guy is marriage material, he is going to be the main breadwinner in the family. And I want a guy who can take care of me and my son without me having to worry. But, if he has NO personality, or seems like a serious playboy, I'll take my chances with a man who isn't as wealthy.
yes, I am "turned on" by a man with money, in hopes that my son and I will be secure.

for me that's a big turn off. i had a conversation with a friend the other day and we were talking about this very same thing. we have profiles on hi5 and almost all of our classmates from high school are there and some from college. these people will put the most outrageous things on their profiles. it's not just guys the girls do it too. I'm looking at them and going wow when did they become like this? i think it's an ego thing and they are trying to gain attention. the funny thing is that even though some ppl like us think it's a turn off there are many others who like this.

I immediately think "Better come up with something better than that for I have my own money and power."
I am NOT turned on by guys who do this. In fact it is quite the opposite. I rather have someone appear poor yet intellectual so I can get to know the person.
I am sure the type of woman you are plays a huge factor on this as well. I am down to earth and painfully blunt. I play no games and am honest to a fault. I expect the same from those who enter my life.

Personally, this is a real turn off for me. Yes, as women we all have dreams of meeting the perfect man, who has it all and wealth.... but to be honest, public displays like this are vulgar. I would rather someone let their personality come across. I mean, why would you want to be with someone if all you thought was they were with you for your money!! Quite shallow really.
Money isn't everything - and no, I'm not rich (quite skint to be honest)..! Lend me a fiver!!

Money and power are like penises. I want them to have a nice one but it sexier hiden behind a pair of trousers.
Men who show it off in public are a bit vulgar.... BUT that does not mean to say I like a nice serving of wealth and power under the hood!

"I know its harmless, I've been there"? It sounds to me like you're not above trying to drop in a couple of impressive things you've done either!
It's a very insecure person who shows off about who they are and what they've done. The people with true class and the ones who are most well off never feel the need to boast - they have enough confidence to be themselves

Misguided fools for thinking that a woman is impressed with their large egos. Better that they hide the fact that they are loaded until they find the security of a sincere woman. No one likes a show off either.

Not attractive. That's why I couldn't do speed dating! It's too superficia, and you need to show your best assets in 10 min!.
As for meeting websites, it's supposed to be a good idea because you meet people who you share interests with, and you shouldn't have to boast about things. It's just ridiculous.

It all depends on the type of woman you are i supose, i would think those men are only gonna find gold-diggers. A woman looking for a true meaningful relationship is not gonna look just for the guys monthly income but at how charming and whitty he is.

When a guy does that with me, I feel like he's overcompensating for something else- like a lack of brains or manners. Wealth and power can be good to have, but not if you lack more important things like integrity, humor and intelligence.
