Get the Zen Vision M. Mine is superb!! It's so easy to load and the video quality is awsome. Get a screen protector from www.techfocus.co.uk for only £1.99. Lots of other extras there too.

I have used both.
I like, and still own the iPod. Looks and Usability.
The only thing I like about the Zen is Line-in encoding, where you can record music from a stereo to the zen, no computer needed.
Still, I love the iPod... I just do.

i have a nomad zen xtra, twice the memory for half the price of an ipod. however my boyfriend has an ipod and its so much easier to get the music on and off and sorted where you want it. however you can download different software for the zen called 'notmad' gettit? which makes it ALOT easier to use. personally if i was in the market for a new one now i would buy n ipod this time rather than the nomad

I love my Creative Zen V Plus, but have no experience of iPod, so any comparison is unfounded. But based on what I've heard, if you're an Apple person, probably iPod. If you're PC-based, probably Zen.
