So, Aluminium is stronger than steel. But what other metal is stronger, lighter and also heat resistant? Also the abundancy of that metal must be high, meaning that there's alot!

Skipping lighter you might have luck with Platinum or solid Mercury; otherwise I'd go with a fortified form of Lithium. There must be compounds that satisfy your answer....

Not entirely convinced by your assertion about the relative strength of aliminium and steel.

Titanium would appear to be a candidate for some applications.
