I do actually feel short changed due to my height.I was the second oldest and the shortest out of 6 kids.I always thought i would be a good height but it wasnt to be.My mum is about 5'7 and so is my dad.So the only thing i can think of is that i take my height from my nan.Even though she is taller than me she is around 5'3.You may thinh Oh but it is only an inch. She is very old and shrinking whereas i am 5'2 and shrinking due to my age.So i probably wont even be as tall as her even now.BOO HOO !! I wouldnt let anyone say Oh but you are 5'2 so what i have just as much problems in life as a shorter person.I was always told to work with what i have got so that as always been my motto

I know how you feel. I didn't grow for 4 years and at age 14 I was 4 ft 8 but I went to and endocronologist and He ran some blood test and determined that I had no growth hormone so I was put on growth hormone shots and now and 5 ft 5. But it put me behind a lot of my friends. in everything. I think being short can have its advantages and disadvantages. like we don't have to duck as to where tall people do.

I think my reason for being short is twofold: 1. because of medicines I took as a kid due to health problems I had then, and 2. my grandma was 5' 2".

My mom however is 5' 6" and my dad is 6' 0"

Regardless I'm very proud of my height now although as a kid I wished I had been a bit taller. My mom later told me that my height is actually the average height for a woman.

I'm exactly 5'0". On the one hand, I feel it makes me seem young for my (decidedly NOT young) age. Which is cool. On the other hand, just about everything is created for taller people (kitchen counters, car seats etc.) which is a pain in the neck if you're trying to get something done around the house. At the end of the day, I am the same size as Kylie Minogue. Which is not a bad thing to be :) And PS we say "petite" not "short"...

I am 22 and 5'3. My mom is almost 5'6 and my dad like 5'10. I take more after my grandma and now she is shrinking and is probably close to 5 feet so look what I have to look forward to! My husband loves me being shorter and short people can wear tall shoes!

I'm 5'2", and it doesn't bother me too much. Only when I can't reach high places does it irk me. Then I have to either use a stepstool, or call to someone near that I need to 'borrow their height". Hey, in some situations, being short is an advantage. (I just can't think right now what those situations are. Hmmm...)

I'm short...about 5'1 and i'm happy with it! High heels are the best things. Been a girl you can wear shoes to give you those extra inches.
I believe men tend to like petite women anyway and i think that women can get away with been shorter.....
At the end of the day you can choose to see it as been "short changed" or you can see it as been the lucky one in your family because you get to be different.
I know i'd rather be different!

Be proud........CheChe x

I feel humiliated about my height sort of drawback to me as i failed interview for flight steward. I cant marry tall americans. So compensate my lack of height getting good education, having vision and pursuing it.
