I don't want to tell you what I think about gays, abortion, minorities, feminism, gay marriage, multiculturalism, inter-racial marriage, atheism, empowered woman and the whole host of other things that you advocate as the up and coming and the norm. I just want you to know, I'm a white man, and YES - I am still very much alive and very powerful in America. I won't be going anywhere fast. Also, understand this, the older people get, the wiser they become. They come to learn that old fashioned values and good honest traditional ways are the keys to a long and joyful life. ( not men marrying men, and having test tube babies ) This ones for my fellow men, thumbs up! Comments?

I fit your same description except that I am female. What bugs me is that if we try to stand up for plain old common moral decency (like we dont want to see Britney and Madonna swapping spit on tv, or we don't think that b***jobs in the Oval Office are a good thing), we get labeled facist, bible-thumping, radical, hate-mongering Christians.

Yes, I think we are a silent majority.

Live and let live.

You are no majority, I am also a white male and I am ashamed of your question.

I agree with you that the older you get the wiser you become so you must have Alzheimer's or something similar because it's obvious you have lost the plot.

It does not bother me that people have the right to choose, gay, abortion, straight, divorce. I have my values and the only ones I try to educate are my children, until they are 18. Then they fly away to the wide world and make their own choices and I just pray I had some influence on them.

Let people have their lives and don't tell them what is right and wrong. Nobody likes to be told that the way they were born is wrong.

Above all have a life of your own. You know what they say, the reason why people bother with other people's lives is because they don't have a life of their own. Maybe you are just older and bitter.

My comment is this.

This is not a question. There is no way to answer a staement, much less a rant.

You are not in the majority, since there are more women than men, and some of the men are not white.

You are not silent, at least in the cyber sense, and I would suggest that in real life, you're noisy as well, although many people exhibit "cyber-muscles" where real ones don't exist in real life.

You may be wise, but your not showing it here. You can't even ask a proper question.

Now, this rant isn't even clumsily disquised as a question, and clearly violates the community guidelines on the basis, but I'm not gonna report it. Don't be surprised if somebody does, and if they do, don't come back here whining about how Yahoo is liberal.

Maybe you are wise, but I don't find this rant wise. And if age brings wisdom, I'm pushing 60 yrs old here, and if you're older than that, I'd check with your doctor and see if maybe you've passed the point of wisdom, and progressed to the point of senility. Or maybe dementia.

Please check the community guidelines before you ask another "question"

While I am sure you had good intentions with your post it didn't come off that way. In fact it read very much like a closed minded male chauvinist white power statement. Diversity is the hallmark of our society and while we should not buy into every stereotype and label which is presented, we should allow ourselves to be open to change. The world is not static, we either learn, grow and adapt, or we get steam rolled by progress. Women, immigrants and minorities all have a vital role in our society, these are the hallmarks of liberty. All should be considered equal and all should be allowed an adequate say in the affairs of the country. You have a right to either speak out, or not if you so choose against that which you don't like. Traditional values are important and many do hold them, but never think for a second that you have the right to speak for the majority. No matter what that majority might be or who makes it up. To the statement that you aren't going anywhere fast, I would disagree. You are a dinosaur and facing rapid extinction because of refusal to properly recognize rights for all citizens, not just those which you deem worthy. Before you get the idea that I am one of those liberals you obviously fear so much, let me state that I am conservative and you do not speak for me.

A multicultural society should not threaten you as a white man. Other races and cultures also believe in their old fashioned values. You don't own the "key" to good, honest, traditional ways. Get over yourself and enjoy life. You will feel a lot better. And you won't suffer from heart disease. Have a good life.

A woman can still be empowered and have traditional family values. Yes some of us work, but the home is still the most sacred part of our lives. Our home should always be our shelter and strength. Something to take pride in, and that should be the same for everyone.

You might be the silent majority now but in 15 years, you won't be any majority. White people, male or not, will be the minority in America due to current birth statistics and the rate of immigrants flowing into America.

Apparently those "old fashioned values and good honest traditional ways" don't have room for "inter-racial marriage."

Nice!

Ronald Reagan spoke of the Silent Majority and woke it up, hard and strong. Never has the minority had such power over the majority and people accept it, because not accepting it will get you labeled and tormented.
