At an age when you can handle the ball and not feel like you will drop it on your foot.

It is suitable for anyone who can pick up a 6# ball and roll it toward the pins. With the use of bumpers (which keep the ball from going into the gutters), it is much more fun for youngsters than it used to be.

I have seen kids who can not pick up the ball play. they just roll it as far as they can and are then rewarded by huggs and kisses from mum and dad. As long as they can't lift it well, just have them roll it, and then when they are able to pick it up without a problem (probbly 7 or 8) then let the game start!
