I am planning on buying an electrolysis pen for personal use and wonder if anyone has ever used and if it works and how painful it is or should I not waste my money on one of them?
Thank you

Both Laser and Electrolysis are painful but also that both may have side effects I have read some horror stories in various forums about scars and burns after such sessions, because after all the methods use electricity. Waxing & Threading are good methods because although not permanent, at least the hair is pulled from the root and hence the regrowth can take up to 6 weeks. I used both these methods before and in both cases I developed spots & rashes after the treatments. Now I have found a gadget called eze-tweeze and I no longer get spots. This gadget pulls the hair from the root just like waxing and threading but it does not hurt and I can do it myself at home. It's brilliant. Check it out it's much easier than all this fiddling with electric currents which may cause problems later.

Hi

I don't know about the pens but I went for Electrolysis for about 3 months before I said enough. The pain for me was a little over the top and I am now heading towards lazer treatment. Still not pain free but a lot less painful than Electrolysis but some people don't find it painful, I guess it is all down the the individual. Why don't you book one session before you buy the pen just to see if you can cope with it.

Good Luck!

no they don't work don't waste your money the best form of electrolysis is the needle form. this is when a needle is placed in your hair follicle and then the current is sent down. It hurts like buggery and still takes around three shots for the hair to die and not grow, which equals years of electrolysis I had it professionally done by a beautician for years and it did get rid of a far bit of the hair but i now wax any way, it is easier and more effective. I am looking at doing laser removal which is faster and I believe cheaper. a few of my friends have had the laser and say it's great.
