I am a Beauty Therapist an studied this for 2years!
to b a more confident an a good professional u av to learn about the body, u cant do massage and not know about the muscles, tissues, bones, blood circulation an lymph nodes an drainage, a massage isnt as effect unless you no the technical meaning behind the physical part of beauty.

the amount of important information that u actually learn about ur body is amazing, i really enjoyed learnin anatomy an physiology because it is interesting an u also learn alot about urself!

it is also important to know ur stuff wen a client will ask u during a treatment "oh wots this part of the body", "wots this bone called an this muscle" you have got to know it off by heart because really if they ask you an u dont no, not only will u look unprofessional, but this is also a way for u to lose clients which is bad for profit an salon earnings! :D Xx

I'm not entirely sure what a beauty therapist does, but if it has anything to do with making someone feel better about him/herself or self improvement AP may be important to study. Anatomy and Physiology studies the makeup and functionality of a human body. If you are going to be giving therapy on beauty or self improvement, knowing how the body works and differences in genetics and other things may help you better assist your future clients with more thorough advice.

Anatomy = so you know what to wax when doing a brazilian. Physiology = so you know what to rub when doing an indian massage. Just two things that I would hope my beautician would know. I hope this helps.

to give you an idea of how the most important organ - the skin works. Plus you will also need knowledge of the effect that oils, scents, and smells have on the body. i.e. rosemary oil can increase blood pressure, which can be bad for people who already have high BP.
