Duddley only as a middle name..if you need to use it at all. Jordan Robert is pretty as is Robert Jordan. The bad part about Jordan is that alot of people are using it as a girls' name.

Robert Jordan reminds me of the sci-fi author, and Duddley makes me think of the horrible cousin in the Harry Potter series. I would say though that if you want to use Duddley, use Duddley Jordan, then call him D.J. You can say the "Duddley" is silent. I have a friend that did that with her son, Bruce Michael. The "Bruce" is silent.
But having said all that, our opinions really don't matter. This is your child and you need to name him what you feel most comfortable with.
Best of luck to you.

If you use Duddley, I would recommend a middle name. As a first name, kids will probably tease him. (Most people don't find out middle names of someone through school.)
Other than that, I really like Robert Jordan. And I like it better.

I would use Robert and Jordan. Maybe Jordan Robert would sound better and flows better than Robert Jordan. Umm, Duddley, yeahh, i'm not to kean of it. It sounds like the school nerd of any typical High School, sorry. But Jordan Robert, sounds great, it's very masculine.

If you must use Duddley-- PLEASE use it as the second name. That way in high school he can hide it if he wants to...(At least until graduation).
I HATE my first name Sandy. (I know it isn't really that bad, but I hate it!) Every year, the first couple days of school, my teachers would always call for Sandy. I do not go by that name, but it takes them a few days to get all that straight. When the other teens saw that it bothered me, the continuously called me Sandy.
Now take all that and multiply it by being called Duddley! If you want to name him after you dad, i think that is great, I would definitely use Robert though if at all possible!
I think Jordan Robert _____ is really cute, and a nice tribute to your Father.

I know Duddley is a family name but I certainly would not use it. I prefer Jordan Robert.

If it's important to you to have Duddley in your sons name, then may i suggest using it as a middle name, as he's growing up especially at school he can choose whether to tell his peers his middle name or not.
I think Jordan Duddley sounds very strong and powerful and is a great compromise.
He won't hate you for the choice you make in his name, and if he does get ridiculed, it will only make him a stronger person in life.
All the best
