"shunned" by society
"symbolic" of teens who don't know where they belong
"seething" (full of anger) - toward the Socs

"embarrased" - Pony is in front of Cherrie
"evolving" by learning how to function as adults
"egrarious" (means friendly) to each other
"equable" (means unchanging) - "Stay Gold"
