It doesn't sound stupid, everyone worries about this at one time in their life. It can be very painful the first time but make sure you are comfortable and that he takes his time. Be sure before you do anything though because you can't take it back.

I dont know where the person above me thinks it hurts the first few times i only had pain during the first time briefly and if i was not aware of having an ovarian infection ... however i can see for a girl that is really small that she may have problems or small pain during intercourse. depending where you have the pain ... you should definately seek a gynagologist and find out if there is a reason for the discomfort and what can be done about it ...

If you take things nice & gently, things can be uncomfortable feeling at first more than "painful". Everyone has a different tolerance level of pain or discomfort, so communication is important. If something is NOT acceptable to you or partner at first, it could be just your nerves or relaxation factor. Over time these will get easier to deal with. And never go in "dry", lubrication is always a necessity. That's why your body has natural lubricants built in to help you. If you didn't have them... that would be like trying to give birth to a dry piece of wood.......owww

Good question. Yes, especially the first time. Make sure to communicate your concerns to your future partner so you will have a good first experience. Don't ever have sex for the first time simply because you felt pressured into it. Take your time.
