I do it to my close friends, its sounds pretty funny and i just call my bf a champ or a silly billy which sort of stands for all of the more common lovey dovey terms

No you do not address any of your friends with love or darling. If you are married than it is okay to address your husband or wife with the terms of endearment such as love, darling, honey, or sweetheart.

Only really close friends... and then only if they okay with it ... i my self hate endearments... during my ten years stay in the usa there has been plenty situations where i had to call people on it .. to me endearments are not just said by a notion ...

I don't use those terms when being with my friends, cuz my friends are just friends to me. I live in Boston, Ma, no one uses those terms with eachother. Except my friend who lives in East Boston, at her middke school kids always call each other " my love". For an example, "Hi my love"!!!! Yeah I don't do that. I never did. And I'm not in a relationship so... :) Do you use those terms with your friends?
