I am in dispute with someone in Jordan who likes to use my compan name and logo. They would get more bsuiness using my brand. I don't want to let them use it, now they say they could just go and register a compnay under the same name. Can they do it? Could they also use my comnay logo? How about intellectual property and what can I do o protect my business name and logo?

If the name and logo is your TRADEMARK, you can sue. I think Jordan was once a British colony and so its laws are British based. I don't know, but there could be a way to file a complaint with the Trade Office about this problem. Also, engaged a lawyer. Good luck.

The uk registration is for a uk company only, unless you had trademarked or copyrighted it actually in Jordan already. the only course of action would be if you beleived that he was using your company logos and details for fraud. ie was claiming to be associated with you to use your reputation for his own benefit, then you may have some rights through either the uk or jordonian law. A call to the DTi may shed some light on that angle.
Other than that, make sure you have bought the relevent websites that could be used to advertise your company. Eg if you already own the .co.uk, buy the .com and other varients if appropriate. as an example I trade as frontline financial services, and own frontlinemortgages, frontlinecommercial, frontlinepropertiesoverseas as example of future trading option protection. think laterally to protect yourself.
Hope that helps
