I have a 55 gallon aquarium with different kinds of fish in there. Well i have 2 convicts and they have laid eggs. Now the eggs where looking pretty good and the parents where doing their job, so i went and bought baby food and a divider for my tank. Well the day after i noticed oneof my otherafrican cichlid started (who was yellow and black striped) starting turning real black and he had white cottony looking stuff growing in spots on him, well the man told me to take him out of there right away because he was stressing out because of the eggs and the cottony stuff was fungus. So i did, and he was actually looking ok for the day. Well when i went to the pet store, i told the fish guy what happened and he recommended me Anti fungal fish remedy for the little guys so i got home and put some in his bowl and not more than 2 to 3 hours later he was on the bottom of the bowl. He ended up dying. And then today i found the same cottony stuff on the fish eggs. Please Help. i like my fish.

The eggs are already dead if they have fungus growing on them. Remove them and treat the tank with the fungus remover. The other fish may have died because of being moved to a bowl with no cycled water and no heater or oxygen.

they've fungused, they won't hatch and may not have been fertile anyway. remove them, your convicts will spawn again!

infertile eggs often do this, in the same way if you left some food in the tank, it would get "fluffy" too.

if your fish got fluffy, it could be any number of things, the most fatal is columnaris but i would have treated him in the tank with the other fish moving him may have been the nail in the coffin and stressed him out, was it heated/filtered?

convicts are prolific so worrying about this spawn isn't a problem, there will be others!

I dont somewhat be attentive to lots approximately fish sweetie yet i be attentive to they do be stricken by fungal infections very somewhat and that i actually desire your case is extremely remedied yet be arranged for the extra serious as fish are notoriously complicated creatures to handle. i might quite propose in seek of advice from a vet somewhat than a puppy keep as 9 circumstances out of 10 the puppy keep will in simple terms attempt to sell you something that may not even artwork, a minimum of with a vet you will get a definitive answer. sturdy success for you and your little fish ;0)
