of the scary paranormal variety. There are 'cold spots', things fly off shelves for no reason and the light in my baby boys bedroom has blown 7 times in the last month. The electric circuits have all been checked and found to be fine. On one occasion the bulb shattered completly. It is not a pleasent feeling and 'shadows' have been seen walking from room to room by more than one person. Please can someone give me some pointers as to where the best sites or the best books are to research this matter. As soon as you enter my home there is a feeling of distinct unease. I am in the U.K. Serious answers only please. This is affecting my children. Thanks for yor help

oh my that is scary im from australia and have never encounterd this sort of problem, but i see stuff about it on tv all time, and those ppl usually get a priest to come to their home,some crosses hanging up around the house mite help.i guess you could just look up paranormal sites of any kind and see wat u come up with but i suggest dont leave it for too much longer im a mum myself and if it were happening to me id go strait and see someone about it,i wouldnt risk anything for my family,a house and items in a house can be replaced,ppls lives cant, so take care and wish u the best of luck.

If you have a genuine concern of a spiritual manner, I would suggest staying AWAY from the garden-variety bookstore books on ghosts. Your best bet it to have your house cleansed. Find a local coven of Wiccans, a priest, whatever you ascribe to. Most spirits simply don't enjoy the attention of a higher authority, and will attempt to flee if confronted by a purifying force. Only if these things fail should a paranormal psychologist be consulted. And shop around. There are plenty of shady dealers and "crystal vendors" who would love to seperate a concerned person from their money in a time of worry.

If this is affecting your children, then you need to get them out of the house. There are groups that specialize in this kind of research. One group, TAPS, has a TV show in America where they set up camera and recording equipment in the house and see if they can prove or disprove the claim.
Couple of things you can do. First, get a taperecorder, the handheld kind, and turn the volume all the way up and press record. Then go around your house asking questions... what is your name, what do you want, do you need help, etc. Go back and play the recorder back and see if there was anything recorded that you couldn't hear. Make sure you make it clear that you aren't going anywhere, and that it is your house.
And talk to a church. See if you can get your home blessed.

Start by making your house a house that prays. CHange whatever behaviors that are causing bad feeling in the house. Wouldn't hurt to have some friends over to pray with you.

try to 'smudge' it is a ritual where you light certain herbs on fire and it is said to drive evil out and purify. if you cant find that try to light a red candle upside down. that is said to reverse the effects of negitive spirits.
