Dry naturally, that drug can cause cancer later. It is healthier to let it stop naturally. Takes about a week or so.

You should not need anything. Your body will start to dry up on its own when you start to slow down on the breastfeeding. Your body makes milk on demand so if you feed less you make less. But expect your breasts to hurt as they will be full with milk! Do not let the milk out. Deal with the pain and in a few days you will be less full of milk

I believe it was flax seed. I was breast feeding at the time and took it for another problem I had. I then paniced and called the hospital. They looked up fennel seed accidentally and told me to take no more because it would dry me up quickly no matter how much I continued to try to feed. So I would say try fennel seed to dry up. Call the maternity department at the hospital, they have a book of the effects of everything.

I had the same problem as you, even though my baby was then bottle fed I was still leaking milk in huge proportions weeks later. I went to my doctor, but he said the medications to dry milk up were not recommended as they can be dangerous. He perscribed me the strongest contraceptive pill going (microgynan), and, amazingly it dried it up in no time! I would well recommend it!!! I am from Australia though, not sure whats available to you where you are. I know how you feel, I hope you can sort it out soon.

try using ice packs or cabbage leaves in your bra to dry it up and ease the pain...really anything cold....dont express the milk and dont let hot water run on them in the shower, should dry up pretty quick on its own.....drugs to dry up the milk were outlawed in the US over 10 years ago due to side affects.
