Any hardware/electric store will have the adapters. Check on the kettle, either the bottom or the plug and see the voltage range. If it was 110-240 then you'll be able to use it without any problems. If it will only handle 110 then it's better to buy a new one. Unless you are bringing a LOT of North American appliances, then in the UK you should buy a power converter. If you buy a good enough one, you can attach a extension and have a few North American plugs.

Maplin Electronics (see web page) have various transformers for adapting to UK to USA voltage up to 30 amps, price range from around £10.00 to £30.00 so you would be better to wait and buy this transformer when you get back home. I have found that electric kettles in the USA take a lot longer to boil due to the lower voltage and you would get the same here using it with a transformer

The first two answers are correct. You cannot use a US 120 volt kettle in the UK, in fact I'm surprised they even have them, since a 2kw kettle would draw about 17 amps. and US NEMA 5-15 sockets are only 15amp. Perhaps it is US two phase, in which case it will be 220/240 volt. and MAY be ok. You will have to take it to an electrician to establish this.

You would need a very powerful step-down transformer - It would be cheaper to buy a new UK kettle.

Any store that you can buy luggage in usually sells adapters near them. That is where I bought mine. They know you are going to travel so they usually sell items for travelling near places where they sell luggage. I bought my adapters there. You will find a package of adapters for all over the world.. It is not expensive at all.
