Well honey, you can have false labor pains for many weeks before the real thing happens. You'll have more doc appointments to check if you're dialated. If you're actually going into labor, dialation is the best sign. If there's none, your belly is just preparing itself to go into labor. It's like doing involuntary situps to tone those muscles for the work they will be doing soon. Just try to relax and don't get too worried until the pains are coming in regular intervals for regulated periods of time.

By the way, this happened to me in all 3 of my pregnancies, but the first was the worst for Braxton Hicks.

Good luck!!!

First, calm down. Stress can make it worse. Yes, I do agree with your doctor, they are Braxton-Hicks contractions. You can get diareaha from it due to them stimulating your digestive tract. Keep your appointments. If the doctors aren't concerned, your water hasn't broke, the contractions have no regularity/rhythm, and you still feel the baby moving about, there is nothing to worry about. The doctors will just send you home and tell you to relax. They'll also send you home even if you are in labor until your contractions are normal, and have about 5 minutes between them. Unless they think the baby needs to stay inside you longer. Try not to worry, if anything is wrong, your doctor will work with you on it.

Are you timing these contractions? Start the timing with the end of one contraction to the beginning of the next. That will tell you how far apart they are. The more info you give your doc the better. If it gets to painful for you, just get yourself to the doc. Better for you and the baby. Good luck to you.
