depends on the country. sometimes you pay sales tax upon exporting and than again upon importing. laws vary from country to country. your situation might change the deal to. for instance if your in the US military you can avoid paying sales tax and you don't pay an export or import tax, but you will have to pay a value depending on the state when you go to register.

If you're a wholesaler and do not register and title the vehicles in your name you do not pay any sales tax. If you are a private individual you must pay the sales tax.
