I bought the Western Digital SATA hard drive today. I tried installing it but not only does the Dell Dimension 3000 need me to purchase an additional bracket to put the actual hard drive in, I'm guessing it needs some kind of SATA ports AND more things? Can anyone give me a list of things I will need to buy so I can install the second hard drive? Help!

Assuming your Dell Dimension 3000 doesn't have built-in SATA drive connectors, most bigger computer stores sell addon SATA adapter cards (<$40). And, usually, all the instructions come with the adapter.

TIP: Install the larger drive and re-install Windows on it, then install the smaller drive and transfer all your personal data to the big drive. Re-format the small drive and use it to back up your stuff.

If your not sure how, have a reliable computer repair company (like Radio Shack) do it for you. One mistake and you could lose all your data!
