My first question might be where do you live? There isn't a week that passes that I don't get junk mail flyers from either Home Depot or Lowes, advertising BLOCKS designed for just such a purpose, as well as general lanscape use.
Knowing where you are might help, as the climate you live in, and the construction of the house, might be a thought in "sealing up" that underspace, if for no other reason than to control temps IN the house with slightly higher levels of efficiency.
You could use any manner of wood based product, though I wouldn't,,,such as batten board, T111, etc, cut to size. If it was my house, and not a mobile, I'd be doing concrete block, mortar and a crawl space doorway.

Old homes I worked on in the past always looked good with the fake brick skirting I am sure it is still around, Of course it only looks as good as the rest of the house if your weeds are tall or there is debri around it does not look to good.
Your local supplier can find what I am talking about go to them for availability and pricing

depending on the house like color of wood and how iis the wood laying
one thing you could do and this will take time and patience is
get flat rock like creek rocks the real flat ones and mix up concrete you have to put like a small fence like around the block that is there and put the concrete on that then put rock on and fill in between the rocks with the concrete too there might be a web site on this my mom did it to her house and i thought it was pretty
to make it even better she done the same thing to the steps
OR
you could buy rough cut lumber and sand iy lightly cut and run the same direction as wood on top varinish or stain it that would be pretty too

There is a product called "Nailite" I bought it at a vinyl siding store . It's a heavy duty molded vinyl that comes in about 10 different patterns,ie, brick of different colors, cut stone, like permastone, and a few other patterns. I t comes in 20" x 40" pieces. But, I think it is pricey at $250.00 per square. If you do decide to find and install it, make sure you use treated lumber when installing it.

I think fake brick/stone has really come a long way. It is not even fake now, it is just a very thin brick, or stone that you stick on.
Of course plants are good too.
But why not go with red and white candy stripes or purple with pink polka dots just to liven up the place?

Regarding your trailer comment - we have come a long way there is now a concrete skirting that looks like basement foundation. It is approx. 2-4" thick made out of actual concrete. Check it out - your closest manufactured home dealer can point you in the right direction.

I tend to like kilts or long skirts on guys. And yes, I am serious. I love a guy in a skirt. Tears - Most men who enjoy cross-dressing ARE straight.
