Bad sectors can be a physical problem or formatting one. If it's physically damaged, that is not a result of how many times you formatted. If it's any other reason, reformatting is actually good for the drive (within reason) because it refreshes the format image. Bad sectors does not "harm" the rest of the PC but It may cause data errors. If you do a scan disk it should find and mark any bad sectors so they will not be used. If you start getting a lot of them, time to replace the drive because there is a physical problem.

When you format a disk , it tries and removes the bad sectors. There is no harm in formating disk. However it should not be done very often say every two days. In case you have some changes to make you can format once every hour also.

Formatting is no different from any other read / write operation. Therefore, there is no danger of bad sectors cropping up due to formatting, or changing the OS for that matter.

Bad sectors are the result of physical damage to the hard disk. They can occur when the read / write head physically touches the platter due to jerks or when the disk becomes old and its parts become worn out.

BUT DO NT WORRY IT IS JUST 90%FALSE BECAUSE IF U R FORMATTING YOUR HDD FOR FIRST TIME MEANS DO NT WORRY. ONE HARD DISK CAN BE FORMATTED FOR 8 TIMES FULL FORMAT AND 24 TIMES FOR PARTLY FORMATTING.
