By the look of things Mr Jacob Zuma is now seeking favour and support from the afrikaner. First the meeting with Stevey and his biltong, then off to visit the afrikaans family that recently fell victim to horrid crimes, and now the statement that" crime is in fact NOT a perception and there is someting wrong in our society as it does not seem to value life any longer"! Welcome to the club bra Zuma, it is about time. We will soon show you the secret handshake. However, I cant help but lend an ear to the little voice that is asking: PERFECT TIMING, DESPERATE PRE - ELECTION RAMBLINGS OR SINCERE COMPASSION FOR THE AFRIKANER?

A Leopard doesnt change its spots and Zuma is a Communist at heart and pretty desperate for money. Clearly he is under council to try and undo the harm that Mbeki and 2 Trials have done to him and so you have the charm offensive. He wants to share in the spoils with all the other looters from the ANC and is being prevented from doing so by Mbeki. Therefore his only real hope is to topple Mbeki and become the next President. Ordinary South Africans have no say in who will become the next Leader of the ANC and therefore President and Zuma carries the support of Cosatu,SA Communist Party and the ANC Youth League. How many Branches support he carries outside of Natal is anyone's guess but he is a dangerous, dangerous predator.Acknowledging crime and taking an Aids test are defiant moves in opposition to Mbeki's denialism so see nothing else in it.

Can we trust Zuma - No. Does this make for interesting conversation, yes. I personally do not agree with Zuma or believe a word he is saying, but if his meeting with the Afrikaners can get his opposition flustered and maybe get other leaders to meet with them as well it might just be good for the Afrikaners

Funny enough, just before I read your question, I read the newspaper and the same thought crossed my mind.

First he sang a song of war, now he wants to win the white South Africans for what???? He suddenly says that crime is not a perception, H-E-L-L-O, what have you done with the rapist Zuma??? (Oh I forgot, it's not a crime... Mshimiwam (how do you write that???)

Why the sudden change? He’s not just a fraud, now he’s a hypocrite as well.

Zuma is pretty confident that he will be the next president - he has the full and already acknowledged support of the ANCYL, he is very popular with the communist party and COSATU, and lets not forget even though he was removed as deputy president of South Africa by Thabo he still kept his position as deputy president of the ANC because of his strong support base there.

I think he wants to have as many Europeans remain in S.A. as possible so that he can still be assured his slice of pie.

I would not trust anything this man has to say - has he not been involved in enough criminal doings, what with rape charges, fraud and corruption and now tax evasion?!

Just like any other ANC politician, Zuma is prepared to sell his soul for financial gain.
Do not pay any notice whatsoever to his recent "caring" behavior, once he's president the Afrikaner and the rest of SA are in for a rollercoaster ride down a deep dark tunnel.

Definitely selling methods. Try to sell himself to make himself "popular". He knows there is a dangerous unknown force in the Afrikaner, and try to get them on his side.

Don't believe him for a sec. They will never accept the Afrikaners (Whites, Boer etc), so why the sudden care for the Afrikaner.

Zuma just thinks we're stupid. I mean who in their right mind would vote for him. I'm with you there; pre-election ramble-period...

i actually spoke to my friends about this, this weekend and they al say the same thing. the Afrikaners might accept his help and let him try and solve the sensless murders of farmers and even stand up for our rights but as soon as it comes to election time the Afrikaners that he 'helped' will not cast their vote for him.
