I would have to say that among certain groups within society, there tends to be the 'in' or 'it' factor that will always be played out for matters of shock value and/or coolness.
Being Gay/Lesbian is not necessarily 'in', but saying you've experienced a same sex encounter, no matter how small (ie: a kiss a la Madonna/Britney), is.
As for being more accepted, I guess that depends on what you feel you need from society. Personally, society in general can kiss my a$$ for all I care. I want nothing from them, least of all their acceptance........now respect? that I will take, but acceptance, sorry, I accept who I am, as do my friends and family and that's good enough.
Society owes me nothing except the right to be who I am, to love who I will, to work as I wish, and to be left alone without malice, interference or discrimination, just as all people should be.

Society is more accepting, but it is definitely not the cool or in thing to do. GLBT people get alot of harrassement and no real benefits, especially in school where gay means the same as bad, it is not seen as cool at all. I also know that being transgendered is becoming more acceptable, but people will still think your odd, talk about you behind your back, and commonly resort to violence.

You know, I was born lesbian. I've been kissing girls since 1st grade, but I have noticed over the last 5 years how it seems to be the "hip" thing to be gay, even if it's only for the evening. I detest "15 minute lesbians" as I call them. Those are the girls at the bars and on the "Girls Gone Wild" video's who **** their best friend for sport and then act like they're straight when they wake up. What a disgrace to the GLBT population attempting a life of normalcy. It's the straights who always make it harder.

Sure, some people hop on the bandwagon to fit in somewhere, but I think a lot of the increase in out people is that it's becoming easier to be openly G, L, B, T, etc.
PS: Nice screen name. Love that album. March 13! yay!

I really don't think so. We still have to be careful in the workplace and such. But slowly society is becoming more accepting of us. A lot of it is just that a lot more of us are coming out of the closet too. we are out there and now society at large has to deal with us.

I think its idiotic but i mostly think that its becoming more acceptable which IS GREAT! but yeah as i said...

Salvation comes from the grace of God. if you're kept and backslide (proceed to sin)and in no way obey His commandments you'll lose your salvation. after we glance contained in the Bible, Jesus stated there'll be some who call His call and he gained't understand them, or their call will be erased from the e book of existence. the answer then is certain you are able to lose your salvation. the line is slender, it truly is a confusing journey. in case you ask God into your heart and advise it, he will handbook you. it truly is no longer unusual to no longer experience diverse. some human beings on television desire us to have self belief each little thing is reliable and we are able to all be millionaires. It would not artwork that way. turn remote out of your sins, convey regret. God will do something. save in ideas all of us sin, no count number number how lengthy you've been a Christian, it nonetheless occurs familiar.

No, its not "in" its just accepted more. Like, 200 years ago you would be hanged for being gay, its just that people have more rights.

haha...NO, it's not becoming the "in" thing. Society is just being more open-minded and accepting of it now. So, that is why we see more people "out". They are less afraid of what people think.
