when copper sulafate and sodium chloride are added nothing happens why???

so is this ok? When one compound is added to another a new substance can be formed, this is called a chemical reaction for example copper sulfate + sodium carbonate possible products are Sodium sulfate, Copper carbonate. When a chemical reaction does not occur for example when we added copper sulfate and sodium chloride this is because When added together both these compounds will be separate and turn into ions, since none of these ions combine to form an insoluble substance, both of these compounds are soluble in water so the ions simply hang around as separate ions in solution.... remember im in grade 10:P
