First you should know what is bittorrent
It is a p2p network. For example
Some of the people in the network would have the complete file. They are known as 'seeders'.
Many other people are downloading the file from these seeders. Thus many peole might have different parts of the file. While you're downloading the parts you don't have others are downloading from your system the parts that they dont have. Evrntually everyone in the swarm would have the complete document
Utorrent is a software that acts as a client that helps you to download files from bittorrents.

it is a web site and a program that allows file sharing. you can download and upload at the same time. to be a good torrenter you should atleast upload more than download. nothing is free that way. hehe
