Sometimes I am really friendly, and I like to meet new people. All I do is shake hands and talk, and some people look at me like I am a freak. Is it a bad thing that I am friendly?

no they are just jealous of you. i would want to be like you, trust me. you are a good person so don't change yourself for no one. continue being like that. it is the best personality; open minded, positive, looking-forward, etc

It depends on the gender of the other person, the circumstances, and even culture.
I think it might help to just be more aware of those things and how people are percieving you. Example: in Islamic culture making eye contact is taboo for both genders as it's considered a sign of interest. People who have just met you may prefer to get to know you a little better before opening up. Other people are afraid of germs and prefer not to shake hands.
And of course, with men there's always the chance they will misinterpret your friendly demeanor as a sign of interest - even when you think they're a frog! lol So just try to be more aware, but you are most definately *not* a freak.

Definitely not and I don't know why people would stare at U like that. Seeing as how I'm a shy person I love meeting people that aren't afriad 2 just talk 2 me. It's great feeling 2 know that becuz of my shyness someone doesn't think I'm lame and I think I'm worth talking 2. U sound like U'd be a really fun person 2 hang out with. Don't listen 2 what people say and don't pay attention 2 the looks they give U. As long as Ur not bothering anyone then they should keep their nose in their own business.

Well...it depends who you're being friendly to. There are many people in the world who suffer from a hidden disease. It's called depression. And when you're trying to be friendly to a depressed person, there's no saying how he'll react. Another explanation would be this: people always have the tendency to judge those who are different to them, so if you're being friendly with someone who is not that smiley, it might end bad... :( My advice to you would be to Analise each person before being friendly to them! :))

Oh same here , i know what you mean!! Its crazy..
Some people just AREN'T used to being treated nicely.. Because they were brought up POORLY.. Its definately a great thing to be friendly.. You just don't wanna be stepped on like a doormat from being TOO friendly.. (i've had it happen lol) I think being yourself is the best thing and being nice is something you can't find too often..
be proud of who you are and keep my words of advice in mind lol

it's a good thing - from being friendly to all you meet, you can eventually weed those who are not "in sync" out of your life ! But no need to be over-friendly or others could mistake your intentions as being too forward

Fantastic that is what I like to hear a lady with good manners I consider it rude to ignore most type's of people and I do not need to mention any undesirables. And yes it is a good thing !

NO......definitely no......
Just that some peeps are being "over-protective" to themselves and just won't trust strangers easily.........
Dun need to care much of that, take it easy....being friendly is the best........
