why do the media, press, feel it necessary to report, SAS are on a mission to release the hostages in ethiopia. ?

surely this gives the captors a warning, and as for scaring the captors answer this first,
do you warn someone you are going to punch, or do you punch them first ?

I totally agree and understand what you are saying.... but I think/hope the SAS are alot smarter than that. Just cause its been reported in the paper does not mean the whole thing is going to be rumbled. I would imagine the SAS already know where they are and are able to follow/locate the hostages if they were moved. Cant imagine some report in the paper would change anything

Same with Prince Harry. If the media dont follow him around and report on his every move, how are the Iraquis going to know where he is. It surely will be difficult to pinpoint one soldier from all the thousands there. but the media will be running round making the poor lad a sitting duck.
Theyll be interviewing the SAS next, and saying 'what exactly are your plans' 'oh well be sneaking into eritrea over the river on the night of the 25th...'

I totally agree and have been saying this for ages.
The media aren't on any side, except for their own.
They are just out to make money, so put things like this on to increase ratings, relying on people's love of the rush of adrenaline they get when they read stuff like this.
It sickens me.
A good example is Romeo Beckham.
The press would just love it if he collapsed with an epileptic fit from their flash guns.
"We were there and got exclusive photos of his fit" - not caring if he was ok.

Maybe the same reason as the police sound a siren and let the bad guys leg it before they get there.

The mass media has no care for state secrets they think they should just write everything they hear. They don't care if people die because of what they write. They have no care about their country. They just don't care about much of anything.
