I know of cases where people take their lives for different reasons and before people freak out and say "don't do it" lmao i'm not suicidal. But i was a while back and 2 things stopped me. 1: i thought to myself suicide is usually a last resort when people feel they can't go on and i didn't want that. 2: i knew if i did commit suicide then my bro would probably do the same so i didnt want that. whats your view? thanks x

I appreciate all your answers except i can't accept that people are saying it is a cowards way out. it is ok for someone who isn't in that situation to say this. clearly anyone who contemplates suicide has thought it through and they feel that life isn't worth living. to the sane person who isn't suicide it seems like a cowardese way to go but you can't say that when you don't know what that person is feeling.

here in Israel, increasing the Arab students to suicide because they feel so many pressure from there family and society.. u know to get suicide is so brave step, but if they just killed himself, all his family be sad and wearing black all the time, and if he went to get rest, then his family will never take some rest...
when they suicide they can't face the life and it's effect them,. and if no one help them, it will do the same...
so i wish the people be happy always, and God give us the soul to keep it, not to give him back to him... so enjoy the life with your family and friends and u will be super happy, just care about good things not bad things.. good luck
good for u that u still with us... God bless

No I dont believe it is ever the right answer. You cant just give up your life because it destroys others.I dont see suicide as a selfish action I see more as a last resort. For someone to take their own life must be one of the hardest decisons to make. I know from my own personal experiences that life can kick you to the curb and spit in your face but the best thing to do is think about your good times that you've had and even if things dont seem to be getting better then its your decision to make it better. You always should try and try again if it doesnt work out right first time. There will always be someone there to turn to who can give you a hand and pull you back from the edge and family will always be there for you no matter what.

I don't think it's ever the "right" answer but I do think it is understandable when a person is chronically ill and in a lot of pain. I did try to kill myself a few years ago and although I'm glad I didn't succeed and I wouldn't do it again, I don't feel that I was entirely wrong. I was in constant pain and even with morphine I couldn't sleep more than about 2 hours at a time. About 2 years ago I suddenly started experiencing much less pain. There is no explanation. I hesitate to call it a miracle because that usually means a person is healed. I still have the same problems but the pain is mostly gone.

Never the right answer for the loved ones and friends you leave behind. Suicide is never the right answer is it, but speaking or talking can help. Next time you are feeling low give the samaritans a ring.

See you are still here from the last time you felt like committing suicide so you must have the anwser hidden in yourself.

Why not try thinking about others and not yourself, though you are doing that by talking about your Bro...good on you well done..

For the person that is thinking of doing it of course it is the right answer as they beleive there is no other alternative. (It is a proven fact that people who commit suicide have a chemical imbalance in their brain therefore they are not thinking rationally when they kill themselves). For the people that are left behind of course it's not the right answer. From someone who has been through this whole situation with someone close to me taking their life I can see both sides of the story but still the unaswered questions as to why and the guilt for me will never subside. All I can say is that if people are feeling this way, please talk to someone and try and work through whatever issues are bothering you.

I think suicide is a selfish act committed by those who have no regards or love for those that they have left behind in unfathomable misery. I find it to be it a cowards act there is nothing that family and close friends can't resolve together.

That split second in time has not only sent such a precious life to another world but it has left those in this world wondering why? what could I have done? what did I not see? What if? what what
Suicide the ultimate selfish act.

Suicide is not a solution for anything and everything as some fools think of that!!!

Suicide is a thing which if attempted is a CRIME and f committed is a NOT CRIME !

This explanation do not serve any purpose !

We get just ONE CHANCE to live in this world and therefore the best advice would be to adopt is LIVE ON AND ON, until death separates you from life, on its own manner !!!

Only the courageous live longer and the fools die each and every time !!!

So KEEP TO HEART THE IDEOLOGY THAT LIFE IS THERE ONLY ONCE & AND THAT IT HAS TO BE LIVED FULLY WELL !

Each and everything will pass on for a better or worse time which we should accept embracingly if we have to be HAPPY & GAy !!!

I've been suicidal too. I think it was medication and hospital that saved me.

For those who have commited suicide, like you say, it is the last resort when they can find nothing to ease their tortured minds. Often they really believe that their friends and family (if they have any), would be better off without them as they feel a huge amount of guilt for how their illness causes others problems too.

I see it as death from a terrible illness.

I really dont know if it,s the right thing to do,but i do know the devastation and disbelief it leaves behind is wrong. My sister is a nurse in an intensive care ward and tells me stories that beggar belief, the" ways" in which some people "chose" to kill themselves is certainly not the actions of a coward. For some reason men choose more violent deaths than women and people like my sister are left to try and fix that or watch them die in horrific pain. She always says it,s dealing with the family thats the worst part especially if it,s a child who she knows is not going to pull through.I can never imagine being that low and thinking it,s the only option left to me and i hope i never do.

I think suicide is never ever the answer, it is an escape route, but you leave such a mess fro those left behind! I think the only time it should ever even be considered is in the event of someone that has commited a crime of something and can't live with themselves, that deserved to die. They are doing society a favour by getting rid of themselves but otherwise never
