Is Masturbation Normal?
While it once was regarded as a perversion and a sign of a mental problem, masturbation now is regarded as a normal, healthy sexual activity that is pleasant, fulfilling, acceptable and safe. It is a good way to experience sexual pleasure and can be done throughout life.
Masturbation is only considered a problem when it inhibits sexual activity with a partner, is done in public, or causes significant distress to the person. It may cause distress if it is done compulsively and/or interferes with daily life and activities.
Is Masturbation Harmful?
In general, the medical community considers masturbation to be a natural and harmless expression of sexuality for both men and women. It does not cause any physical injury or harm to the body, and can be performed in moderation throughout a person's lifetime as a part of normal sexual behavior. Some cultures and religions oppose the use of masturbation or even label it as sinful. This can lead to guilt or shame about the behavior.
Some experts suggest that masturbation can actually improve sexual health and relationships. By exploring your own body through masturbation, you can determine what is erotically pleasing to you and can share this with your partner. Some partners use mutual masturbation to discover techniques for a more satisfying sexual relationship and to add to their mutual intimacy.

Its a sin to not. A doctor once told me when I went in worried that an ex-girlfriend had been too permiscuous in her spare time that "the best sex, is self sex". I've subscribed to that belief ever since.

The whole ideal that masturbating is a sin is promoted by the very establishment that perpetuates that a "sin" is even a valid event. By simply removing this one restriction, how many young boys wouldnt have to endure sexual advances of clergy? How many girls of any age wouldnt be raped?

I further contend that masturbation makes a person better at the actual act. Longevity, control and experience can be improved by merely masturbating on a regular basis.

Definitely not!
It's a natural and healthy way to relieve your emotions.
In some people it can cause problems - not because it is harmful directly, but because of the feeling of guilt that some people have due to this indulgence.
However, if it leads to an obsession with self, then it is better to try and divert the mind elsewhere.

Sin is an act against God. At least from a Judeo-Christian standpoint, there is no specific mention of the act of masturbation in the Old or New Testaments of the Bible.

It is not prohibited.

Depends on how strict the doctrine is concerning procreation. I believe in Catholic faith it is considered a sin, but maybe not some evangelical faiths. You should do some research on Dr. James Dobson as he as tackled this issue and received a lot of critisism in supporting it.

No its not a Sin.Its rather healthy, in moderate amounts. But excessive indulgence in this habit, can lead to impotency in later years.Dysfunctional erectile problems, premature ejaculation etc can be serious consequential fallouts of this habit. But it is never a SIN.

First of: NO. And you won't find any texts that say it is. Second, "sins" are guidelines passed down from deities, not arrived at through consensus.

Of course my son masturbation is a sin! A big sin! In any religion it is stated that un natural sex without marriage is a sin. Masturbation is un natural sex as you are doing it for your self pleasure. People who masturbate are people who have been swayed by the DEVIL and will burn in hell for their sins! You must have self restrain so that you will not be tempted by the DEVIL my son. If you really cannot control your sex urges than get married so that you can satisfy your wife. By masturbation you will actually kill millions of sperms which are actually you own sons and daugthers!
