According to the Chinese Zodiac, you figure your ascendant animal sign by what hour you were born. I was born at 5:58 PM Pacific Standard time in Redlands California, so that would make me Rooster / Dragon; but in Hong Kong China, the time was 9:58 AM, thus making me Snake / Dragon. Any Chinese Astrology experts out there? What time zone should I go by?

Dragon People born in the Year of the Dragon are healthy, energetic, excitable, short-tempered, and stubborn. They are also honest, sensitive, brave, and they inspire confidence and trust. Dragon people are the most eccentric of any in the eastern zodiac. They neither borrow money nor make flowery speeches, but they tend to be soft-hearted which sometimes gives others an advantage over them. They are compatible with Rats, Snakes, Monkeys, and Roosters.

you go by your Chinese birthday, not by the hour. Mine is about 1 month before my American birthday.
