Simone, why should u care what I think about ur choice of being with a person u like? Their looks or their attributes should be ur decision and urs alone. Personally I look for both in a person, looks and good moral attributes, but again that's my personal choice. U on the other hand maybe superficial and like looks over attributes. I don't know u, so I can't say what u like.

No. Looks are just external although it's important too. But what makes a person humane is how he perceive things and how he react to certain situation.

Looks without an attitude is pointless. They're like decorations, you know. They're just there in the corner but does it satisfies? Even in love making. Yeah, it's cool to be with someone who's hot. But hey, it's just for a couple of minutes. What's next?

If you have the personality, you spice things. Everyday is an adventure. It makes everything cooler and that rocks.

Even if you're a model (ramp or print), you must have a good attitude or else D&G, Armani, Prada, Monique Lhuillier, etc...won't hire you because you bore them with your face. You need to exude your personality.

No, and after I get to know someone, their personality changes the way I perceive their looks. I've met absolutely gorgeous people that don't have a good personality. It doesn't take long before I think 'wow, that person isn't as good looking as I thought'. Then I've met people that aren't much to look at, but are the most kind and caring people. Then I find myself thinking 'wow, this person is actually very good looking'. It's hard to explain, and I don't know if it's common, but that's how I work.

I wont lie, I need a physical attraction to be in a relationship with someone, but in the long run- the personality is what makes it really last and while the looks fade, if u love that person deeply and for everything they represent, looks begin to matter less and less and less...
I think it is also a maturity thing.

Are we talking about mate selection or overall success in life (e.g., getting a job?)

Well, I guess either way I'd say personality. Looks only take a person so far. It's obviously a hindrance not to have both, but emphasizing personality will get you farther.

The best attribute is to be hot in bed.

Not no, but Hell No.

Short term goals might be met with looks, but long term goals are often met with personality.

I have always liked Jacklyn Smith over Farrah Fawcett.
(I am old and like Charlies Angles.)
Compare the two for yourself.
You be the judge.

I think anyone with a little wisdom under their belt knows that looks can only take a person so far.

Yes....because sometimes look do contribute to your personality...but it is not to be very beautiful or handsome...I think the best way is how u present yourself is the most important..

no, I think you have to get to know the whole person, that is why "Ugly Betty" is such a hit, there is more to a person than just pretty to look at.
