In Alighieri Dante's wonderful work

"The Divine Comedy"

Where he journeys through, HELL AND PURGATORY AND eventually to paradise...

He choses 'VIRGIL' the great poet to guide him through hell and purgatory (Beatrice, eventually leads him to paradise).

Which FAMOUS person, dead, or alive, would you trust, to guide you on such a journey...

I'd chose ERNEST SHACKLTON, who along with his men, survived five months in Antarctica, floating on ice floes. In such a man I put my trust.
Also, it would be warmer for him, he'd jump at the chance!

Not having really considered this before, my impulse is to opt for Dante.
Although 'Christianised' after his death, Virgil's view of hell would have been primarily Roman. This was not such a bad place as the Christian Inferno of Dante's creation. As Dante documented Hell, he would be better than anyone to give the guided tour.

With all the respect I would say that only Jesus Christ can help anyone in getting through Purgatory or hell. So let us be obedient to His rules and regulations to be followed so that He will guide us through them smoothly and place us in His presence forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha yes Dante's Inferno.. You can take a test online to see which layer of hell you would go to.. I ended up in level 8. You should take the test.. just go to google. type in dante's Inferno test and its like the first one the comes up... But I would want George Bush the Devil himself to give me the tour.. Seems like he would know all about it.. He puts everyone on Earth through it.
