Memory is nothing more than a path of neuro-chemicals through the brain. Deja vu is when a stimulus (a place, smell, sound) triggers a memory that is not exact but very close to the current stimulus. You could consider this a "glitch" in the matrix. A person that travels a lot, or watches a lot of movies would be more prone to having deja vu for the simple fact that their brain has been programmed with more memories. I too have experienced deja vu and try to determine the actual memory instead of perceiving it as "being there before." Sometimes you have no recollection, or quite simply there is no possible way for you to have such a similar memory. This brings up such things as "race memory" (a genetically programmed memory) or reincarnation (a popular idea, but when 2000 people claim to have the soul of joan of ark....) I also feel that it is possible that some memories can be formed in infancy and we have no way of consciously remembering them (I have a clear memory of an event when I was 2 years old, so why shouldn't their be many more memories that I just don't actively remember?) If you are experiencing it all the time, it may be the onset of something as serious as a brain disorder, or simply stress on your body (are you sleeping enough, problems at work, etc.) As for having the ability "to change" the outcome -- if you do anything to change it, you wouldn't notice the change because that will be the way it would have happenned in your memory (an interesting paradox for another question!)

OH MY FRICKEN JEBUSS!

I get Deja Vu AT LEAST once a day. I understand the familiarity sence and everything. I am always wondering where iv seen these visions or images or whatever before and i think they might be dreams but i cant always remember my dreams but anyways i'v had people tell me that its some kind of psychic sence of the future which i dont know i believe but that would be cool!! Its normal to get Deja Vu like once every week or two but for people like me and you... its odd.

U r a sensitive creature and child of the universe. U have the ability to channel energies from a different plane on which we r on. U r a good candidate for mediumship and may very well possess the ability to focus on future or past events through these gateways u often gp through either in ur dreams or in reality. Read more on it at ur local library or visit an occult shop to learn to channel ur energy.

You might want to see a neurologist. Frequent deja vu is a symptom of epilepsy and I would assume also other problems in the brain. May as well get checked out.

The way the mind works we are constantly recollecting the instant that has just happened, just passed. we recollect, recollect and recollect. our entire experience of the world is recollection. every man has to recollect the act he has just preformed, the event he has just witnessed, the experience he has just lived.
