The computer controls spark timing, fuel mixture, and so on. I doubt very much that your engine would run properly. The only way I see that work, is if you change the engine too.

I would not do that. It might work, but the computer is calibrated for the engine for which it is intended, and you could wind up with any of a long list of possible problems.
