I have just finished sewing a skirt, and used a button to secure it in the back. As this was the first time i had done it this way, i made a vertical buttonhole instead of a horizontal one. It doesnt make a huge difference, but i would like to change this. Is there any way i can do this? Please let me know, and thank you in advance for your help.

I would think, short of replacing the waistband, there is not much you could do to change the direction of the buttonhole without losing the integrity of the fabric. True you could sew it closed, but it will be weaker and much more likely to come undone. I'd leave it as is.

You are the only one that knows. Don't worry about it. If you try to correct it now, you are going to cause yourself a lot of work and waste materials. If you sew up the buttonhole and then cut a new one, that will be noticeable, and it will weaken the material greatly. You can replace the waistband, but why create unnecessary work for a fully functioning garment? You could try to patch in new fabric. Once again, why? It is unnecessary for a fully functional garment.

Congratulations on your finished garment.

Sew it up using a zigzag stitch then make butttonhole on other side and sew button onto original buttonhole. Get it. Always make your buttonholes horizontal particularly on blouses and dresses and then they won't gape.

You cannot reasonably put a new buttonhole in the same place in the same fabric. If you can insert a fabric section to carry the new buttonhole, taking care to match the pattern (if there is one), you could come close to having it look as if you meant it.

Sew it shut and cut in a new one the right way.

Well this is an unusual question... I would assume you sew the hole back up... then cut a horizontal one..:)

Oh my goodness!! this way of super style of questions. The Divine is beckoning us constantly. Any phantasm of being trapped is in simple terms that. All concepts are concepts. i don't think of direct journey would be intellectualized. Direct journey, direct communion smiles lovingly in any respect tries of the mind to map or clarify away the unexplainable. i think of that as quickly as we've accompanied our map or our faith or conception shape to the ingredient of catching sight of the purpose of our map (to steer us to that direct journey) then what use is it to us? all of us understand, we see. do we take our eyes from the holiday spot and theorize while what we seek for is already earlier us? What questions are needed as quickly as we comprehend our pulse and and the heartbeat of all issues as already area of and completely Divine. The Divine is here and now in this plane already and as quickly as we detect that, as quickly as we sense that, as quickly as we immediately journey that, we are then linked with the resource of real exhilaration and real information that needs no prognosis.
