The "right to choose" sounds olpible, but whether it is desirable or not even in spite of depending on whether or not the choice is about very few people these days that would say a man should have the right to choose to beat up his dog-looking wife. Most feminists would deny employers the right to choose their salaries and employees on the basis of garden. Most people would agree with a law denying women the right to choose to abuse their children. Our right to choose in so many areas is limited by the more fundamental talibans of other people, and most people accept this. What a crazy world we live in.

Legally a woman has the right to choose...Does making it legal make it right.....I don't believe so.....but to some it does.....and so the argument continues.......if it suddenly became illegal....would all women stop aborting children, or would we just loose more women and children to abortion?

When a woman's life is in imminent danger, I think everyone believes that the choice should be hers.

The current laws of the United States grant women the right to an abortion in almost every instance. So, what bearing does the question have on anything?

These arguments that it should be the woman's decision are ludicrous. So is the argument that abortion is preferable to a baby being an orphan or brought up in an abusive environment. What malarkey! None of the above should be considered viable options for a child.

Many great men and women who have contributed greatly to society have been orphans or grown up as abused children. Killing them should not be an option given to a self-absorbed, emotionally distraught woman during a time that they may be experiencing hormonal fluctuations that could make their decision-making abilities suspect.

I am deeply saddened that women have been granted virtually an absolute right to control whether or not children should live or die, whether or not children should know their fathers, and the right to have sex with whomever they choose and extort money from their partners should they decide to have a baby.

In most respects and circumstances, men have been stripped of any decision-making authority with regard to their own children.

Women, on the other hand, have the right to give up caring for their children any time they choose and can relinquish that duty to virtually whomever they choose. They can abandon their children or give them up for adoption virtually at will.

We are witnessing disturbing and unhealthy trends with regard to the psychological development of children in our country. Parental duties generally apply only to men and only at the whims of the mother. Has anyone ever heard of a case whereby a man exhibited the symptoms of Münchhausen's Syndrome by Proxy?

Crazier because backward people like u r still living in it, where the hell u been for the last thirty or so years since Roe -vs- Wade? Women have had the right to choose since that God awful decision as much as I'm against it I have accepted it and so should u. We r not God and should not or ought not judge why women decide to kill unborn children they either chose to procreate or not by lying with a man.. Even when it wasn't a choice and the baby came from rape it is still the woman's decision to keep or loose her pregnancy and so it should be. I'd rather a child not be born to this life full of misery and abuse like so many others r who r in orphanages or being sold through legal adoptions. And leaving the judging solely to God.

Lady if you want to see real misery I suggest you go to Afghanistan. Then again you wouldn't like it there. The only reason a woman would need an abortion is if she could die if she carries on with the pregnancy. Other than that she doesn't need or have an execuse to get one. And the father should have a say in whether his baby is terminated or not. Until feminsts find a way to make babies by themselves it takes two people to make a baby so it should take two people to decide the child's fate. Men seem to get the short end of the stick in everything in USA which isn't fair.

very simple they want equal rights so here we go..
if the woman wants an abortion just like the father does.....OK
if the woman doesn't want abortion just like the father doesn't....OK
if the woman wants an abortion and the father doesn't....he buys her out ($ 9months ) for the kid, if she negotiates the pregnancy if not she pays him ($ 18 years minus 9months).
if the woman doesn't want an abortion and the father does...he pays her ($ 9 months) ....not 18 years why should a guy pay 18 years when he has no decision and before you say anything like well he this he that, don't forget they both have made the decision to sleep with each other now move on to the next problem;em at hand to keep the equal rights going. you wanted them live by them or shut the hell up. but in a case of rape i totally have to say the girl has the power to do what ever she wants even if it has something to do with killing the rapist

The right to choose protects women. Before many many women and their unwanted babies were dieing from botched abortions. It should be kept legal. Have you any adopted children? Unwanted children breeds poverty. Besides if some of these men would hang around and do their part in raising kids the abortion rate would decrease.

I'm not sure I really understand what you are asking, but I'm going to try to answer anyhow. Considering the examples you used, it sounds like you are pro-life. I personally am both. I am pro-life for myself, but who am I to decide what is right for someone else? The law allows abortion. It seems that most religions do not. It's not my place to judge other people's decisions and actions concerning anything. That doesn't mean that I think that abortion is right, but it is legal. I'm not going to waste my precious time worrying about everyone else's soul. Should and shouldn't don't really matter since it's legal to do it.

I agree, we must accept the responsibility. I don't think abortion is a "need", unless in some conditions that going through the pregnancy and childbirth would cost the mother's life or there's little chance that the baby would survive. There you can make a choice.

Although I disagree with abortion from a moral point of view, Iam all for abortion because of practical reasons, because I just dont see the benefit for society if party girl after party girl raises the next Kevin Federline as the result of opsie pregnancies.

Maybe because they created the life. Also, I dont get why should only women have the right to decide in becoming a parent or not? If she gets pregnant she can just abort and move on...while a man would have no choice, he would to pay for it for 18 years. If its just about being pregnant and its 'your body' then I dont want the hear all the pro-choice reteric like it could ruin her future or she cant afford it. Abortion is the same as being a bastard. People always complain about deadbeat fathers not surporting thier children, but thier just the same as women who abort. In my opinion, for what it is worth, I think everybody (men and women) should take responsibity 4 a life that they created. I am for protecting all life including animals and unborn babies.//
