Someone told me since I work in ad agency ,advertising related utilities that I pay can be a deductible?

That "someone" might be exaggerating what you can deduct. If you work from home rather than in the office of the agency, then some of that, the portion used for business purposes, might be deductible, but not otherwise.

Based upon the information that you provided, none of that is deductible.

If you maintain a home office for the convenience of your employer you might be able to claim a home office deduction if you itemize your deductions. Some of those items may be partially deductible to the extent that they are ligitimate costs related to the home office.

The rules for home office deductions are strict. Google "home office" on the IRS website for complete information.

I would suspect that you can only use the tax deductible if you are working from your home--if you are working from your home as a business operator or if you are consulting from your home.

If you own the agency, you should be asking your business lawyer not us on yahoo.
