how do i find the type of auto alarm that is in my car i recently purchased?

either key fob or get under the dash and find the alarm module, once you locate that it should have the name on it.

Hopefully, look in the glove box, where the former owner left the instruction manual. Wouldn't that be nice. I would say look under the dash and find the alarm module and try and get the model number and serial number off of it.

You may try and contact the former owner and ask him. I believe they have to give you the former owner's name, if you ask. You could have him call you, if the dealer doesn't want to give you his number. Good luck
