I'm spending 3 weeks in Malaysia this coming summer.
The first week I will be in Sarawak and the following 2 weeks I'd like to visit West Malaysia and maybe Singapore (I'd like to meet some of them Sarong Party Girls that I've just heard about, but unfortunately I'll be on my honeymoon so cannot)

So my question is where would you recommend visiting for them 2 weeks?

(Just because it's my honeymoon it doesn't have to be all lovey dovey hearts and flowers beautiful scenery 5 star hotels etc etc, somewhere near the jungle would suit me)

PS
I wonder what's happened to Boss and Sarah? both have been 'missing in action' for nearly one week, maybe they have eloped together?

Myra,
Your resort/hotel looks very nice indeed and I will definitely consider it nearer the time. Is that you in the photo at the top of the page?

I suggest you fly into Penang from Sarawak. Stay a few days exploring the rich heritage, sights, tastes and cultures that are unique to Penang. Although a holiday is meant to be relaxation, I don't think you want to spend all your time by the beach or hidden in nature. Penang offers a little of everything. Then take a trip to Langkawi. Go by bus or vehicle so you can see the country life along the way and experience the ferry rides. Langkawi is for relaxation and exploring. Go up Gunung Raya and wathc sunsets among the islands. Fly back to Kuala Lumpur, stay a few days to take in the sights of Malaysia's largest city. Then go south to Malacca (Melaka), another rich fabric of cultural diversity and history, and onward to Johor Bharu and then Singapore. If you have shopped along the way, mail or send the items down to your hotel in Singapore or back home so that you need not carry them all the way (souvenirs are cheaper in Malaysia). So much for 2 weeks.

If you are a nature freak, and want to avoid the cities, fly in Johor Bharu, rent a car and make a circuit tour of the peninsular, going up the East Coast to Kota Bharu, then west to Penang and down south via KL to JB, return the car and go to Singapore.

while in Sarawak, don't miss the Bako National Park n Kuching. Over to Sabah, try going to Layang-Layang n Sipadan Island, Orang Utan Sanctuary n Gunung Kinabalu.

Fly to Penang through Air-Asia [ required advance booking ], rent a car/bike to go around the island n don't forget to eat n eat n eat til you vomit ! simply because the food there are so so delicious n cheap - remember the exchange rate ?

your timing also good that you can visit east coast where all the more beautiful islands are located, such as Perhentian, Redang, Lang Tengah, Kapas, Tioman, Rawa, Sibu, Permanggil, Aur etc etc, n not forget Tasek Kenyir n Kuala Tahan Natioanal Park since you love jungle !

n never forget to call for a gethering of YA regulars because i wanted my bicycle to be repair by an expert ! from oversea some more ! haha !

I've only been here a few weeks this trip so far and have farted around in Penang, Langkawi, and a little dabble here in there in northern peninsular malaysia. Langkawi was a first for me, and I LOVED it. Prices were good, scenery was awe inspiring, and as usual the food was great. There was quite a bit to do, and the beach as, well for the lack of a better term, "The Bomb". It's not a shoppers haven like Penang, but not super slow paced like redang is. So far Langkawi is one of the big highlights of my visits here.

You might also want to poke around in the cameron highlands for a day or so, the views are sublime, and the climate is a nice break from sweating your gonads off.

What are you looking for? Tourists traps, great scenery, good diving, there are places to fit any style.
