I think people are overlooking this team. If Isringhausen is healthy the Cardinals will have no problem in the division. Wainwright and Reyes are going to be much better than Jason Marquis and Jeff Weaver were for the Cardinals last season.

How can you say the Cardinals don't have enough pitching to win the Central and then tout the Astros and Cubs? Two teams who lack pitching just as much if not more than the Cardinals? The Cardinals only won 83 games last year but were hit with serious injury issues and awful starting pitching from Marquis, Ponson, Weaver, Mulder and at times Suppan. Lets not forget that they were on pace to win 100 games last year before the injury bug bit. I'm telling you don't sleep on this starting staff, Carp, Wells, Wainwright, Reyes and whoever steps up and takes the 5th spot until Mulder returns could end up being the best staff in the Central and possibly the NL. The bullpen is young, but showed its dominance in the playoffs and WS, and an offense that includes Pujols, a fully healthy Rolen, and Duncans big bat for an entire year will score plenty of runs.

NO.... They have been moving backwards every year. They got lucky and got hot during the play-offs. They only won something like 83 games during the season. They lost a few pitchers and didnt have the greatest staff to begin with. I think the Cubs will win the Central. Followed by the Cardinals and then the Astros and Brewers battling it out for 3rd.

The ST.Louis Cardinals are at the pinnacle of major league baseball right now they can only go down. This team is gonna have a big time line-up and are gonna score alot of runs this year.Pitching is the key as it is every year.TLR and DD will find a way to get this team to the playoffs again. They should win the Division by 5-6 games.

Ty Cobb has it perfect. the different situation is, the Cardinals are not incredibly undesirable sufficient the place LaRussa and the front place of work are keen to renounce on the season now and start up finding out to purchase and advertising away some great money adult adult males (Rolen? Izzy?) for some desparately mandatory potentialities. and that they nonetheless in all probability won't spend sufficient on loose brokers interior the arrival wintry climate. i might like to verify them commerce the above adult adult males now for some farm expertise, then flow after Torii Hunter and a starter for next year.

Yes they will. All the "experts" keep saying that the NL Central is the weakest division in baseball. I'm not sure I agree, but the Cards will win the central again. Astros 2nd, Brewers 3rd, and then the cubs.

Yes, the Cubs will be competitive but with everyone healthy, the Cards should have no problem. Pujols will put up MVP numbers, Carpenter will be dominant and no one ever talks about the great defense they play. Look for them to win 95+ games and finish 8 games or so ahead of the Cubs.
