I honestly believe that the truest benefit to having a college degree is just being able to say you have one. It's kind of like what having your high school diploma was years ago, it's just the social perk of being a little more educated than you really have to be.
It's nice to put on your job applications and it's nice to have an answer when your friends ask where you went to college... Other than that, is it really worthwhile? Not really, not unless you're pursuing a specific career that requires a specific college level education.
I didn't go to college but I'm pretty sure most people who go or have gone to college will tell you that a degree is the only way you can support a family, blah blah blah etc. etc. But there are plenty of financially stable people around who never stepped foot inside a college so it really depends on who you talk to.
Just my two cents.

Don't go to college. That just means less competition for me when I am applying for a great job over $50,000 a year. What college offers is a step up so that you don't have to work for years and years just to get the job that a person walks into with a college education. In some jobs even if you have been there for years they will still require you to get a college degree to get the next promotion. High school diplomas allow you to become someones secretary, while a college degree allows you to become the person who the secretary works for.

A high school diploma is nothing in the world anymore. College was not something I planned on in life I thought working was fun The money. But it gets old the money is not enough to buy a home and support a family. With a college degree you choose where you work and you dong have to be someone's dog. You decide and your in charge of your future. Don't you want to be able to have everything you want and more with out having to say you can't afford it?

The experiences from college are what's important. The classes you probably won't remember all you've learned but the good time with friends will be remembered. Also having a degree on your resume doesn't hurt when you are looking for a job.

You sound like a teenager. Sounds like someone has convinced you of this and now you don't want to bother going to (or completing) college.
Well, if you're happy working at Mcdonald's or working as a cashier in some store, and make minimum and just above minimum wage. Enjoy that HS diploma of yours!

ACTUALLY U WILL BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR BETTER JOBS AND THE MONEY WON'T BE AS GO WITHOUT A COLLEGE DEGREE AND IT MITE BE EASIER TO GET A GOOD JOB. OR MAYBE YOU COULD GO TO A COLLEGE FOR TRAINING IN THE NURSING FIELD FOR 3 YEARS LIKE MY SISTER.
I have seen people clear over $100,000 a year, but on average about 35,000-40,000
ITS A DIGNIFED PROFESSION

Yeah, if you're never going to use it. Fortunately, most people DO use that degree they earned. And you're not going to get a job as a scientist with a high school degree.

It assists you with making better career choices. Many people press the issue of more $$$ but I strongly believe college enchances your intellect. As you get older, one realize that too many of our wrong choices in life are made because we allow our emotions to choose rather than our intellect. Courses in emotional intellegences ought to be mandatory prior to leaving high school.

I think businesses see college grads as being more teachable and being easier to assimilate into an organization better than ones that have not gone to college. Whether this is true or not, I'm not sure.
