I want to go on a 3-4 day backpacking trip but dont know of any good locations. I live in Utah so I am looking for somewhere relatively close (in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, or California). I was hoping to hike somewhere between 10 and 20 miles. Any suggestions??

In New Mexico:
1) El Malpais http://www.discovernlcs.org/TheNLCS/ConservationAreas/ElMalpais.cfm
2) Gila Wilderness
3) Bisti
4) Santa Fe and Carson National Forests
5) Consider the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. It runs through the whole state and you can select the area you want to section hike and go for as long as you like (link:http://www.cdtrail.org/page.php?pname=about/newmexico)

Here is another link with some more awesome places in New Mexico. Good luck with your decision. http://www.nm.blm.gov/recreation/recreation_home.htm

The back country of Yosemite National Park is fabulous for backpackers. There are lots of different trails. My husbands goes once a year and loves it. See this site: http://www.yosemitefun.com/backpacking.htm

You tell me: California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado are all words in spanish. California is next to Baja California (Down California) a mexican state. American California replaced into user-friendly in the previous as Alta California. people did no longer actually "scouse borrow" that territory. They bought it from Santa Anna, the mexican governor from that factor, interior the direction of the Guadalupe-Hidalgo contract, for 15 million money. Althought people paid for it, the contract replaced into compelled by invasion. by skill of how, you are able to´t say the territory didnt belong to Mexicans. Spain created from Mexico a colony till independence conflict, yet Mexicans are a mix from natives, Spain people and criollos (spain people born in new spain). So Mexicans do no longer refer to "natives" like in the event that they have been distinctive people, because of the fact they descend quickly from them. Or why do you think of Mexicans aren´t blonde as people? people killed or excluded maximum natives. Mexico is a cultural blend: the blood of natives remains on those days Mexicans. in the different hand, it rather is declared that people (eu pilgrims) in deed stole the territory from their natives, because of the fact they are not the comparable people (no blending). umm, europeans pilgrims are present day people, till you're an area-american in a reservation.

My favorite...Harbin Hot Springs, Middleton, CA.
I hope your friends are cool with nudity, 'cause there are a lot of girls and boys running around in the buff.
The water is terrific. Sleeping- they have an awsome porch on which you can unroll your sleeping bag.

And on Thursdays(?) they have the so-called "Unconditional Dance". Just use your immagination.

Plenty of places to hike there. It is a very large park.

You owe me a beer if you like the place.
