When I try to open any software (like windows media player), the computer can only work for like 10 mins or so, then it suddenly freeze and stop operating (the light stops flashing, too) When I restart the computer, it says " no bootable device". Can anyone help me fix it ? thx here first
P.S If I wait for like 20 mins before I restart, the comp will be able to start windows, but things still the same when I try to open any software.

a bit more info would be good.
IE.... OS. any anti- virus programs installed?
Have you updated anything since the issue started?

Your Master Boot Record of the hard drive got corrupted. It's working on and off.
Back up all the important files and then re-install the OS.

You appear to have hard drive problems. I would back up all your important files as soon as possible. In all likelihood, you're hard drive is failing or in a best case scenario, you might have a bad cable to the drive.

I also think it sounds like a hard drive problem. It could fail altogether any time. Save your files.
