You're either Army or Air Force....my guess is Army. I can spot 'em a mile away. :)

The weather is moderate. Not too hot or too cold. In the summer temps are in the upper 70s or low 80s most days. We occasionally get a 'heat wave' with tems in the 90s and every once in awhile we break 100. Winter temps are in the 40s or 50s during the day, with nights getting into the upper 20s or low 30s. While we do get snow in the mountians, we don't get much in the city.

It's overcast and cloudy alot. Many residents have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) due to the depressing gray skies. We drink alot of coffee to perk ourselves up. People like to say that it rains all the time. It is very wet, but most of the percipitation comes in the form of heavy mist or light drizzle. We do have our share of hard rain, but not many thunder storms.

I'm not sure about party spots. I'm not into that. There are several nightclubs and bars in downtown Tacoma, and Seattle is only an hour or so away. I'm sure the single guys you're stationed with will be able to inform you of all the local hot spots.

I take it you are going to be stationed at Fort Lewis. The wheather in Seattle rains 9months a year. Downtown has lots of places to see like pike street market and Chef Tom Douglas has some good restraunts in downtown. One thing though is be careful in the Tacoma area, it is a dangerous part of Seattle and is the ghetto. Tacoma is known for some of the most notorious serial killers like the eastcoast sniper lived in Tacoma and then I believe Ted Bundy was raised in the Tacoma area, and about 2 years ago cnn or one of those major news type places rated Tacoma most depressing stressful city. Plus Tacoma stinks everytime I have driven through there on I-5.

It rains way to much here - I live about 10 minutes from Ft Lewis, just South in Olympia. Is Ft Lewis were you are going? That is just South of Tacoma. I am not sure where you are coming from to compare the party life, but yeah of course we party! Send me an email of you like, I will try to answer all your questions
