Yes I support the life support system. But I could not understand in which context are you asking this.
Life is supreme every individual, even a convict, has a right to live his life with dignity. We should do our best to save lives, even if the cost involved is expensive. Nothing is more precious than life.

Believe they should be used? Yes if you want it.
All medical prices should be lowered.
Life Support is a matter of personal choice so far... though you batter make that choice before you are put on it as pulling the plug is a sticky situation.
Someday the people who know how we should live our lives will most likely pass legislation mandating it if you are uninsured and it's on the taxpayer to pay but denying it if it's going to cost the insurance companies money they could better use as political contributions. Cynicism somewhat tongue in cheek...
If you don't want it used on you I suggest getting a tattoo in large letters on your chest that reads:
No Code D. N. R. medical professionals know this to mean
(do not resuscitate) That pretty clearly relays the message. If you meet the perfect mate and end up with a life you'd like to live as long as possible, just get it removed or covered with something nicer.

Life Support systems can be a blessing or a curse depending on your perspective. A 'vegetable' (for lack of a better term) living solely due to the presence of machines...Is that living? A individual who is being sustained by machines until his/her body can heal/ recover...that is understandable.
I believe that all individuals should have a living will to ease the burden of loved ones.
Costs, unfortunately, are driven by supply and demand. The less demand for a product...the more likely it will increase in price. Life Support Systems do not differ from other products in regards to this.

I have been in nursing since I was 16 years old. My personal opinon about life support is, if the docters tell you that the person will not be the same after they came off of it, or the person is going to be braindead regardless, I wouldn't put them on support. I wouldn't let them lay there and suffer any more than what they already have, but from personal experience with family, if they come off of it and will make a 100% recovery, then sure as long as they weren't suffering....
