I didn't hear him say it. I assume, however, like most reasonable people, that anyone who would say it would be kidding.
In my line of work, we rarely have murder defendants who publically go on record announcing their intent, which is good for my business.
If you are able to look objectively at this current climate, you would see the hatred is coming from the "tolerant" left. Not the right. We are nearly always on the defensive, fighting for the right to say and believe what we wish.

Kidding, no. Serious, not that either. You have to realize that everything Rush says(and many other commentators as well) is tailored to their audience, which consists primarily of trailer park dwellers, who don't have room in the trailer for a tv, so they have a radio.
If Rush *is* serious, please send him my address. I'll be happy to use this 60 yr old body, and 30 yrs of martial arts training to kick his pilonidal cyst all the way up to his head.
But we all know it ain't gonna happen. a classic case of cyber-macho.
Lots of conservatives talk big on the net, few of them have the skills to back it up personally. Just like Iraq, they want someone else do the dirty work.

see... everything is just a "joke" to Republcians... if you actually catch them saying something that no normal person would say...
even though half the Republicans go "I can buy that" and don't laugh when they say it...
they think saying "it's a joke" is a get ouf of jail free card for them to say anything they want... America doesn't seem to agree...
