Well I cant give you a fully detailed guide but you will need that router to be wireless and your laptop to have a wireless card compatible with the router. Make sure the router and card are compatible because there is 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n types of wireless. If your laptop is fairly new, it probably has a built in wifi card. Just check what the router is, if its wireless, and what your laptop is if it has a wifi card.

Wireless.. Use a wireless adapter with a wireless access point to get on the Internet.

OR

DSL works over the phone lines. If you have a phone plug in your room, simply unplug the DSL from your cousin's room and move it to yours.

OR

run a network cable from your cousin's DSL router, to a network adapter in your laptop. (may need to buy one).

Hey, there!

You would need to buy a router, bro!

It's really simple. Try to by a Wireless router. Make sure your laptop has a wireless card. If It doesn't? You will need to get a Wireless card for it enable to work with the router! I wish you luck man.
