If you can get classes whether your are going to school or not I would start takeing them now, whether the classes are at a school or not. If you really want to be a paramedic go to a fire station and see one of the paramedics and ask him to suggest a class for you= the sooner you go the better you will be when its time to go to work. You'll be a experience well trained skilled person.(good money)

Usually, you have to be at least 18 or 19 to enroll in the program. In the United States, being an EMT-B is usually a prerequisite for paramedic school, and the minimum age for EMT-B certification is usually 18. Some paramedic schools are stricter, and don't accept anyone under 21. The requirements for state paramedic licensure also vary from state to state. In Alaska, you can't get a paramedic license if you are under 19, and in some states, it's 21.

As far as a maximum age, there is none. It's a personal matter of whether you are still fit to drag people out of cars, carry heavy stretchers, and stay up for 24 hours straight.

Good luck :)

there is no age cut off. As somebody has already said fitness counts. In our service we have just started the new paramedic degree course and the age range of the thirty people we have taken on is 17-55. the course is a two year course with 2 days a week in uni and one day a week on the road with the likes of me (a mentor) doing the job for real.

I don't think there is one. Obviously you can't be 6 but you can train at any age you just may not be able to work at it until you're old enough. Ask a paramedic! Most hospitals or the local Red Cross teach the basic skills and can tell you more.

there is no upper age limit although u do have to pass a physical, u are trained to lift a certain weight etc, what u need to think of is are u fit enough to drive during a 12 hr shift (UK) deal with patients needing lifting on to trolleys & lifting chairs who may be up stairs or maybe at a rta u may need to be bent over the back of a car supporting a neck whilst fire crew cut them out of the car or a patient has an mi whilst rambeling & uy have to carry a para bag across a field and be as quick as u can because his life depends on yr skills (personaly on that one i recommend asking for the para helicopter to be dispatched !!)
Only u know if u are fit enough but good luck as it's a very worth while profession, if u don't mind spending days on end hanging about in cas waiting for a bed for yr patient, never getting a meal break and always being either soaking wet freezing cold or absoultly baking hot, depending on the time of year. :)
