First I found a few snails, then after I came back from vacation i found a creepy crawler with a thousand legs (or at least it looked like it). I sprayed it with some common bug spray but now im wondering if i will keep this plant. I really love the look of this plant and it complements my home nicley. Any advice on how i can rid the plant of these pests?I bought this beauty three days ago....

Don't panic yet.
Since you have sprayed the tree with some kind of poison, give the stuff a chance to work. There are several kinds/types of insecticide and you need to inform yourself of the logical one or ones to use.
Also, the presents of insects also means that there is a good chance that they have set up housekeeping because they like where they are. Soooo . . . . these little critters begin mating and laying eggs. The eggs take a few days to hatch and then you have a new crop of critters with which you must combat. This means staying on your toes and making life miserable for the youngsters. Therefore, repeat poison applications as befitting. Keep in mind that one battle does not win the war.

I hope your not spraying this plant in doors or have any kids or pets.I would use a double sided sticky tape I use this on my 24 peach tree as the bugs try to get up it.It's all over they are stuck and thats that but 9 out of 10 the bugs going up and down your plant are eating there are other bugs so small you can't see them but they do.If this plant is out side you can spray it better then if you have a tractor supply in your area they will help you with the best spray you will need.P.S use Garlic and water mix up good (chop Garlic up) and spray that all bugs hate garlic and it's safe for every one

Did your thousand legged bug also lay a thousand eggs? If the bug spray worked, you probably have no more bugs. I'd wait a few days and see what's there. Re-potting it with sterile soil will help, if creatures are living in the soil.

First spray it with soapy water and cover with large garbage bag for 24 hours. Remove bag and respray with fresh water to rinsh. that should hopefully take care of the problem.
